NEW DELHI: In early counting trends, BJP’s Sanjiv Chaurasia has opened up a sharp lead, pulling in 9,226 votes, putting him 4,541 votes ahead of his nearest rival. Trailing him is CPI(ML) Liberation’s Divya Gautam, who stands at 4,685 votes, struggling to bridge the growing deficit. The margin, while still fluid at this stage, signals a strong early advantage for the BJP as counting continues.Candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation (CPI(ML)L), and the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) are locked in a close three-way contest in Bihar’s Digha Assembly constituency, one of the largest and most politically significant seats in the state.
