NEW DELHI: The Valmiki Nagar assembly constituency in Bihar’s West Champaran district has seen dynamic electoral contests over the past decade, with shifting loyalties between the JD(U), Congress, and independent candidates.This time, the Valmiki Nagar constituency in Paschim Champaran is witnessing a fierce contest between JD(U)’s Dhirendra Pratap Singh and Congress’ Surendra Prasad.

Bihar Exit Polls 2025: Poll of Polls Show NDA Poised For Majority, MGB Trails, No Impact of JSP

In the 2020 assembly elections, JD(U)’s Dhirendra Pratap Singh alias Rinku Singh retained the seat, winning with 74,906 votes and defeating Congress candidate Rajesh Singh by a margin of 21,585 votes. The constituency had 3,31,874 electors, and 1,95,489 valid votes were cast.In 2015, Rinku Singh contested as an independent candidate and secured victory with 66,860 votes, defeating Congress’ Irshad Hussain by 33,580 votes. That year, Valmiki Nagar had 2,95,342 electors and 1,84,834 valid votes.Earlier, in 2010, JD(U)’s Rajesh Singh had won the seat by defeating RJD’s Mukesh Kumar Kushwaha with a margin of 14,671 votes. Rajesh Singh received 42,289 votes, while Kushwaha polled 27,618.
