NEW DELHI: Centre Thursday moved SC requesting it to call to itself the three writ petitions filed in as many high courts challenging the constitutional validity of Parliament-enacted ‘Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act’, which came into force after receiving Presidential assent on Aug 22.“Due to multiple litigations pending before various HCs involving same or substantially similar questions of law and challenging the vires of the Act, it is imperative that these are transferred to SC or to any HC to avoid divergence of opinions or multiplicity of proceedings,” Centre said.
