NEW DELHI: After Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, his wife Kota Neelima has been issued a show-cause notice by the electoral registration officer (ERO) of New Delhi assembly constituency (AC) for being enrolled as an elector in two ACs located in different states.Neelima, a former general secretary of Congress’s Telangana unit who had fought the 2023 assembly polls from Sanathnagar AC, was found to be simultaneously enrolled in New Delhi AC under EPIC No. SJE0755975 as well as in Khairatabad in Telangana under EPIC No. TDZ2666014.“As you may be aware, being registered in the electoral roll of more than one constituency is a penal offence under the Representation of the People Act, 1950,” EC said in the notice sent to Neelima and asked her to show cause by 11am of Sept 10 why action should not be taken against her under the Act.Earlier, Khera was issued a similar show-cause notice for being enrolled in two ACs in Delhi. On Sept 1 itself, he applied for deletion of his vote from Jangpura AC, through Form 7. The duplicate enrolmentswere flagged by BJP.
