South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj ran through the middle order with a four-wicket haul, before Aiden Markram’s scintillating 86 off 55 balls powered the visitors to a seven-wicket win with nearly 30 overs to spare.Jaffer did not miss England’s eighth place in the ICC ODI rankings too. Continuing his friendly banter with Vaughan, the former India opener quipped on X: “England at No. 8… surely against the spirit of cricket. ICC should look into this. @MichaelVaughan.”
The witty jibe instantly drew reactions from fans, many of whom recalled the regular back-and-forth between the two ex-cricketers. Jaffer has built a reputation for posting lighthearted digs at Vaughan whenever England struggle, and this time was no different.Meanwhile, England skipper Harry Brook admitted his side had endured “one of those bad days.” Speaking at the presentation, he said: “Not ideal.
