Bayern Munich secured a 3-2 victory against Augsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday, maintaining their perfect start to their title defense with two wins from two matches, while Bayer Leverkusen squandered a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with 10-man Werder Bremen, denying new coach Erik ten Hag his first league win.Harry Kane marked his 100th Bayern appearance by setting up the opening goal in the 28th minute with a chipped cross that Serge Gnabry headed home.Luis Diaz recovered from missing an early opportunity to score Bayern’s second goal just before halftime, converting Konrad Laimer’s assist from close range.Michael Olise extended Bayern’s lead to 3-0 in the 48th minute with a composed finish, following their six-goal performance against RB Leipzig the previous week.Augsburg mounted a comeback with Kristijan Jakic scoring in the 53rd minute through a controlled volley, followed by Mert Komur’s goal with 14 minutes remaining. The match extended into 10 minutes of stoppage time, but Bayern held on for the win, similar to their midweek 3-2 German Cup victory against third-division Wehen Wiesbaden.“They (goals conceded) are extremely annoying, but on the other hand, we missed a lot of chances,” Bayern captain Manuel Neuer told Sky. “We did that in Wiesbaden, and now again. We’ll definitely put those away in the long run.”In Bremen, Leverkusen led 3-1 and had a numerical advantage after Patrik Schick’s Panenka penalty, his second goal of the match, and Niklas Stark’s dismissal for a second yellow card.Bremen staged a remarkable comeback when goalkeeper Mark Flekken’s error allowed Isaac Schmidt to score, followed by Karim Coulibaly’s stoppage-time equalizer, making him Bremen’s youngest-ever Bundesliga scorer at 18.“There were too many simple mistakes from us… we did dumb things and gave the game away,” Tillman told DAZN.Leverkusen maintained their unbeaten away record in the league, which dates back to May 2023.In other matches, Eintracht Frankfurt’s new signing Ritsu Doan scored twice and provided an assist in their 3-1 victory at Hoffenheim. The Japanese winger opened the scoring with a curling shot from distance in the 17th minute, added his second ten minutes later, and set up Can Uzun for Frankfurt’s third goal.Stuttgart earned a 1-0 home win against Borussia Moenchengladbach through Chema Andres’s 79th-minute header, following striker Nick Woltemade’s confirmed transfer to Newcastle.RB Leipzig recovered from their heavy defeat to Bayern by defeating Heidenheim 2-0 at home, with goals from Christoph Baumgartner and new striker Romulo Cardoso.
