Lucknow: India pacer Prasidh Krishna suffered a head injury during India ‘A’s second unofficial ‘Test’ against Australia ‘A’ in Lucknow on Wednesday, forcing him to leave the field. He was hit by a bouncer from Australia ‘A’ pacer Henry Thornton in the 39th over of India’s innings while attempting to pull a short delivery. India ‘A’ batters had a miserable day, being bundled out for 194 in 52.5 overs in reply to Australia ‘A’s first-innings total of 420. The Indian bowlers pulled things back by claiming three wickets for 16 runs in 7.5 overs when Australia ‘A’ batted a second time. At stumps, the visitors were leading by 242 runs with seven second-innings wickets in hand. Right-arm pacer Thornton delivered an impressive performance, claiming 4/36 which included the wickets of N Jagadeesan, Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, and Mohammad Siraj. Thornton also scored a career-best 32 at No. 11 and shared a useful 91-run partnership with Todd Murphy for the last wicket. Scores: Australia ‘A’ 420 (Murphy 76, McSweeney 74, Suthar 5-107) and 16/3 (Suthar 1-0, Siraj 1-6) lead India ‘A’ 194 (Sudharsan 75, Thornton 4-36) by 242 runs.
