India dominated the opening Test against the West Indies, with KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel and Ravindra Jadeja all scoring centuries to give the hosts a massive 286-run lead by the end of day two. Rahul brought up his 11th Test hundred, ending a long wait for a home ton. Jurel scored a stylish 125 for his maiden Test century in only his sixth match, while Jadeja added his sixth hundred, continuing a purple patch of consistent high scores.Each batter had a distinct way of celebrating: Rahul for his infant daughter, Jurel for the Indian Army, and Jadeja with his trademark sword. I wanted him to tell me if he felt I was getting lazy.” Jadeja replied, “I just told him to feel free and play his shots.” Jurel reflected on the guidance from seniors, saying, “When experienced players are around, things become a lot easier. Starting the innings with KL bhai helped a lot as he kept advising me on what shots to play.” KL Rahul also praised the debutant, saying, “I have spent a lot of time talking cricket with him. I have seen him work hard and I am really happy for him.
