Jurel becomes the 12th Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century, and notably, he is the fifth Indian to register maiden hundred against West Indies, joining the likes of Vijay Manjrekar, Farookh Engineer, Ajay Ratra, and Wriddhiman Saha. His century also marks the third by a designated Indian wicketkeeper in 2025 — following Rishabh Pant’s two tons — making it the most by Indian keepers in a calendar year and the joint second most for any side in a single year, behind South Africa’s four in 2013.
