NEW DELHI: Former India cricketers RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha have joined the Men’s Senior Selection Committee, marking a significant addition to Indian cricket’s decision-making structure. The appointments were confirmed during the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mumbai on Sunday. The reconstituted men’s selection panel will now comprise Ajit Agarkar (Chairperson), Shiv Sundar Das, Ajay Ratra, R.P. Singh, and Pragyan Ojha. While Agarkar, Das, and Ratra continue in their roles, RP Singh and Ojha are the new faces in the five-member committee. Their inclusion is expected to provide fresh insights, especially with their understanding of contemporary cricket dynamics and dressing-room culture.RP Singh, a left-arm pacer known for his swing bowling, represented India in 14 Tests, 58 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, playing a key role in India’s 2007 T20 World Cup triumph. Ojha, a left-arm spinner, featured in 24 Tests, 18 ODIs, and 6 T20Is, was part of several memorable victories under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Sharath, who was part of the senior selection panel since 2023, has been appointed chairman of the junior selection committee, where he will oversee the grooming of young talent.The AGM also saw other key decisions. Former Delhi captain Mithun Manhas was elected the 37th president of the BCCI, succeeding Roger Binny, while Amita Sharma was named chairperson of the women’s selection committee.
