India’s batting once again fired on all cylinders in the Asia Cup Super Fours as the side posted a strong total against Sri Lanka at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. World No. 1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma led the charge with an explosive 61 off 31 deliveries. He found support in Tilak Varma, who stayed unbeaten on 49 from 34 balls. Together, they kept India’s innings moving at a fast pace after an aggressive start. The rest of the batting unit also chipped in, ensuring that India maintained momentum despite losing wickets regularly. Sri Lanka’s bowlers, meanwhile, managed to share the breakthroughs. Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dasun Shanaka and Charith Asalanka all picked up one wicket each. With this effort, India not only set Sri Lanka a stiff chase but also achieved a significant tournament milestone. Their final score of 202 for 5 became the highest team total in the Asia Cup 2025 so far, surpassing Afghanistan’s 188/6 against Hong Kong and India’s own 188/8 against Oman earlier in the tournament. Most runs in Asia Cup 2025
