Pawan Kalyan’s OG is touted to earn over ₹150 crore worldwide on its opening day. The record for 2025’s biggest opening rests with Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which earned ₹150 crore.

Actor Nikhil Siddhartha took to social media to praise OG. “Absolutely Enjoyed #OG last Nights premiere show…A Super Stylish Power Star @PawanKalyan garu, Electrifying Action Episodes, Exhilarating music , with Several Goosebump High Scenes. Pawan Kalyan’s star power is on full display as OG has managed to cross ₹12 crore nett collection in India after the morning shows on release day itself.

Fans have tweeted from the theatres that OG opens with an edit of Emraan Hashmi and Pawan Kalyan, set to the tune of Jhalak Dikhla Ja, the chartbuster from Emraan’s 2006 film, Aksar.

Fans have praised Emraan Hashmi’s screen presence and performance in the film, saying he ‘dominates the screen’ as the antagonist. OG marks the actor’s Telugu-language debut.

On Wednesday, hours before the film’s release, the Telangana High Court suspended the previously approved ticket price hike for OG. This has raised concerns about affecting the film’s opening day box office collection.

People Media Factory, the production house behind the recent Telugu hit, Mirai, announced on Wednesday that they had given several of their screen to OG out of respect for Pawan Kalyan. The film will again screen from Friday.

The Pawan Kalyan film is trending on top on ticketing platform, BookMyShow. Figures show that on the morning of the film’s release, it is selling ovr 25,000 tickets per hour on the website.

Trade insiders are bullish about the opening day collections of Pawan Kalyan’s OG, with some estimates saying the film could earn over ₹150 crore worldwide on release day itself.

Director Sujeeth took to Twitter on the eve of the film’s release, penning a note of gratitude for Pawan Kalyan, his family, other actors, and the film’s makers, urging the fans to enjoy the film in theatres.

Actor Nani watched the film at a special screening on Thursday, praising it whole-heartedly. In his tweet, he wrote, “OG is ORIGINAL GIANT BLOCKBUSTER. The Pawan Kalyan film has earned ₹98 crore gross at the box office in just advance bookings for the opening day, the highest ever for the actor.

OG had a strong run at the box office even before release, earning over ₹16 crore from paid previews in India. This is the best performance by an Indian film in paid previews.
