MUMBAI: Middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan has been sidelined for three weeks with injury, ruling him out of the upcoming Duleep Trophy. The 26-year-old is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.Just days before the setback, Sarfaraz had played a blistering knock in the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, rescuing Mumbai from a precarious 84 for four against Haryana with a counter-attacking 111. His 112-ball innings, laced with nine fours and five sixes, helped turn the tide for his side. He had also scored 138 against TNCA XI earlier in the same tournament, reaching his century with a six off his 99th delivery at the MRF Pachaiyappa’s Ground.Sarfaraz, who made his Test debut against England in Rajkot last year, has been out of the Indian team since the tour of Australia and was not included for the recent England series.More to follow…
